Whats the best way to remove and hide menu icons Mac?

What are the best steps to clean my Apple-Macbook Pro  laptop? My operating system platform is Mac and my Operating systems is  Mac OS X Mountain Lion. I am out of control! I need to know steps on how to remove old menu icons and hide menu icons mac, a.s.a.p. !

Whats the best way to remove and hide menu icons Mac?

You can use Boomstick, a free Mac app which hides the menu bar icons. You can also remove items from the menu bar by holding and dragging them out of the menu. The icon will disappear in the form of dust, you can also remove the icons from the sidebar by the same method. You can also drag those items around within that menu bar not dragging icons out of the menu bar.
