I came to know Alienware’s Alpha game console can be bought at $549. I was told by my friend that it provides a Windows PC with a custom interface best suited to the included Xbox 360 game pad. Is it really true of these features and when is Alienware's Alpha game console expected to be launched? Can anyone update information about this?

In November 21, 2014, Dell announced that they will now be shipping the Alien Alpha gaming console PC which was originally marketed as a Steam Machine early this year. The Alpha console is available in 4 price ranges: $550, $700, $800, and $900. It is also packaged with an Xbox 360 wireless controller.

I guess the Xbox 360 controller is their alternative to the Valve Steam controller which was delayed until 2015. The Alpha console has a Dual Core 2.9 GHz Intel Core i3-4130T processor, a customized NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M GPU with 2 GB video RAM, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, and 500 GB hard drive.

The $699 model doubles the amount of internal storage and the memory but the other components are the same. The $799 model has a Quad Core Intel Core i5-4590T 3.0 GHz processor whereas the top-end model $899 has an Intel Core i7-4765T 3.0 GHz processor and 2 TB internal storage.

All of the 4 models feature Wireless AC and Bluetooth 4.0, 4 USB ports [2 USB 2.0 ports on the front and 2 USB 3.0 on the back], HDMI, Ethernet, and optical audio cables.
