When I am running PlayOnLinux, then I get the error:
PlayOnLinux is just a front-end or more specifically, a graphical front-end for the Wine software compatibility layer which will allow Linux users to install and use Microsoft Windows-based applications like games, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office suite as well as other applications like the ones from Apple: Safari and iTunes. Since it is only a front-end, it still requires Wine to permit the installation of non-Linux-based programs.
But you don’t need to install Wine separately with PlayOnLinux. When you install PlayOnLinux, it automatically installs its own copy of Wine and it can manage different versions of Wine in case you already have Wine installed before installing PlayOnLinux. Since you have that error when running PlayOnLinux, there must be something wrong with your copy. There is probably a missing file or corrupted file in your installation.
To fix it, visit PlayOnLinux Downloads then download a fresh copy of the program according to your distribution.
