Find out more about from Microsoft Update. Click here for details.
I have tried Ms fixit, but it did not work and some other forums suggested other ways to solve this problem, but they seem to use too technical words I do not understand. So I want someone to give me a solution that I can understand and also be able to follow.
Because of this problem, I have not been able to update my windows and there is a driver with the update I want to use for other software. I will be very happy if you gurus help me soon and I appreciate you reading this.
Thanks in advance. Bye.
When I was updating windows I received this error
If you are getting this error. It might mean that a program installed on your pc is preventing windows update services from accessing the internet. To fix the problem, you need to add the Windows Update website addresses to the blocking program's exceptions or "allow" list
Add below lists to Windows Update websites to a firewall exceptions list.
1) http://*.update.microsoft.com
2) https://*.update.microsoft.com
3) http://download.windowsupdate.com
When I was updating windows I received this error
If you have ran the Fix It from Microsoft Fix It website for the Windows update components, then we need to consider third party services that might have prevented updates from being installed in your computer.
Here are the things that we can do(hence no version of Windows mentioned, I’m using Windows 7 for the troubleshooting steps):
1. Disable security software
2. Run cmd as Administrator
3. Type chkdsk > Enter
4. Type sfc /scannow > Enter
5. Disable third party services by doing Clean Boot: Start>Start Search type: MSCONFIG > Enter
6. Click Services tab > at the bottom of the window, click “Hide all Microsoft Services” box > click Disable all
7. Restart computer
If the problem remains the same after the restart, re-register the Windows Update Files. Copy, paste, and save the following into a notepad with File Name: reset.cmd and Save as type: All Files:
REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL /S
REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL /S
REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL /S
REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL /S
REGSVR32 WUCLTUX.DLL /S
REGSVR32 WUWEBV.DLL /S
REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL /S
REGSVR32 MSXML3.DLL /S
Then run a scan to check for malware or rootkits. Then re-install Windows Updates.
