Hi,

WMV files are simply videos in .wmv file type.

These files are playable using Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, VLC, etc. You may check if a player supports .wmv files by checking its specifications before downloading it. It works as simple as other video format works.

Where to find sample wmv files download?

WMV stands for Windows Media Video and is the usual video format you will in computers running Microsoft Windows. It is a video compression format developed by Microsoft for a number of proprietary codecs. This video format was originally designed as an opponent to RealVideo for internet streaming programs. WMV 9 has gained acceptance with the standardization from SMPTE or the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers for physical-delivery formats like Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD.

Microsoft outlined a video codec requirement in 2003 that is based on the WMV 9 codec then presented it to SMPTE for standardization. It was in March of 2006 when the standard was officially approved as SMPTE 421M or known also as VC-1. This makes the WMV 9 format the open standard.

If you want to download WMV videos, here is a way on how you can do it using your web browser. This doesn’t only apply to WMV videos but to any other formats like MPG. Open your web browser and then visit Ek Nazar Videos. Select the video you want and then right-click on PLAY then select “Save Target as”. See image.

This will then download the video. If the “Save Target as” option is not available in your web browser, download and install Maxthon from Maxthon Cloud Browser. It has a built-in downloader that allows downloading of streamed videos from video sharing sites.
