Hello,
I can understood your problem. I just tried Go SMS Keyboard and GO SMS Thai language pack. It worked I could type my name in Thai, send it to a Thai friend, she replied with her name, both of us could read the Thai fonts. Alternatively, Anysoft keyboard apparently works and has a Thai font pack/keyboard plug in you can install. Have you tried that one? I think this will help you to solution your problem.
Thanks

In Android, there are only three system-wide fonts: the normal or the Droid Sans, the serif or the Droid Serif, and the monospace or the Droid Sans Mono. While apps can bundle and install whatever fonts they want, they cannot install fonts for system-wide use. The fonts they install only work within the app itself and cannot be used outside the app.
Since the release of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich, “Roboto” has been the default typeface in Android. Since Android Froyo, “Noto” has been the default typeface on Android for all languages that have not been covered by Roboto. Since Thai font is not obviously installed with any versions of the Android OS, you can install it manually. You can download FlipFont Thai Font Style.
It requires Android 2.2 Froyo and up. Another app you can install that can add Thai font to your Android is Thai Fonts Free. It requires Android 2.3 Gingerbread and higher. Another one is the Thai Font Style. It requires Android 2.2 Froyo and up.
