• International Telecommunication Union – Radio Communication Sector.
• Regulates the RF used in wireless.
• IEEE:Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
• 802.11 documents wireless technical standards.

WiFi Alliance:                                                   

• Global nonprofit industry trade association.
• Promote wireless growth through interoperability certification.

Good day, 

 

I found several names of international organizations that looks after LAN.

 

1. WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure (WAPI)

2. Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE)

3. Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)

4. International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

5.  International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)

5. International governmental and non-governmental organizations liaising with ISO and IEC

6. National bodies that are members of ISO or IEC
