Which are the basic web design courses a beginner needs to know?

If you have no prerequisite about web development, all that you need to learn about are HTML(Hypertext Markup Language), CSS(cascading style sheets). These are the two fundamental technologies required to design web pages. HTML is a language that provides the basic structure and layout of the webpage that anyone can access on World Wide Web.
The appearance of your web page can be designed with CSS, another language you need to know. Also how your screen needs to fit when used in different devices is decided with it. CSS works independently of HTML. These two technologies are linked together to give a web page with a considerably good appeal.
