Which is the best Video Player?

There are a lot of video players developed these days but I can't choose the best one. Some say that VLC is the best while some of them still support Windows Media Player. Which is the best video player among all? Why do think that it's the best? Which one are you using?

It ensures a fast and flexible process and packing adequate features to satisfy its users while giving an elaborate control over their movies and library of videos. It also gives an option of numerous third-party plugins for its feature extension apart from supporting various skins and themes,  Almost every desktop OS has its corresponding VLC build which makes it a complete all-round performer.
