Why can’t i use my Samsung mobile phone as modem?

I have a Samsung mobile phone and its model is SGH-E490.  I set my GPRS but it does not work. No message is shown. No sign about GPRS connection.

Now tell me how can I use my phone as modem. Oh! My dear I also forget to tell you that I had also installed Samsung PC suit.

Hey Buddy,

To connect your Samsung phone as modem, to connect GPRS to your laptop computer, you need to install Samsung PC Suite provided with the phone.  Once the PC suite is installed as you told,  you have already done it.  Open the P.C suite and then click on Internet option.  It will ask you to fill various fields like Name, SIM service provider, Country etc.

Fill these fields. The fields Username and password depends on which SIM service you are using. Try connecting by following these steps and you will be successful.

Most of the times, the username and password are to be kept as same default.

Bro,

Have you activated any internet package yet?  If you have, then open your PC Suite. Then go to your internet options. Then set your profile there.

You can get the information from your service provider, like 'dial-up' number, IP etc. You can keep the user name & password fields blank, if you wish to.

I hope you are done with your problem.

Hi,

First you need a

• USB connector
• Cell phone with SIM card that has load and has an internet setting ;
• Driver for you device, such as PC suite ;
• Then plug it to your PC or laptop ;
• Wait until the hardware configuration is done.

After that you can see, in the network connections that it is enabled and can receive/send data.
