Why do we need to know about encoding?

What is encoding? How is it different from Encryption? What are the types of encoding which are commonly used? What is Tactile encoding? On what basis do we select the type of encoding to be used? Can you please explain me the process used for encoding? What is sequence memory and how is it used in the encoding process?

Why do we need to know about encoding?

Hi,

Encoding is the the way of converting characters into a special format and it is used for transmission or storage purposes. While encryption is the process of securing data to avoid leaks and will require you a password to decrypt it. Unencrypted data is called plain text while encrypted data is cipher text.
