Google has made public its move that it has acquired Quickoffice. This in effect gives Google Inc more tools to overthrow one of its biggest rivals, Microsoft Office. As more and more people these days are into mobile devices and are getting things done on Smartphones and tablets, Google Docs has quickly become a popular alternative to Microsoft Office. And since Quickoffice has already acquired a very good track record of enabling interoperability with different file formats, Google will be working on something that would bring the powerful technology of Quickoffice to Google’s Apps product suite. Quickoffice co-founder and CEO Alan Masarek wrote on its website that by bringing together the magic of Google's intuitive solutions with that of Quickoffice's versatile and powerful products, their company's shared vision for anytime, anywhere productivity can now grow.
