Why is itune application not working in window 7?

I Downloaded iTunes application and there after it doesn’t work

Does it mean that they are incompatible?

please advice.

iTunes are compatible with windows. But you must check the hardware and software compatibility from the below apple link:

Why is itune application not working in window 7?

It really depends on the operating system you are using. But since you are using Windows 7, I’m sure this is not a compatibility issue. If this is the first time that this happens, try restarting your computer then try it again. Restart iTunes after booting then see what happens. If it’s still the same there is probably something wrong with its installation. Try doing another clean installation on the software. Before uninstalling the application, make sure you still have its installer. If not, you can download the latest version, iTunes 10.7, from Apple | iTunes | Download iTunes.

Uninstall iTunes then restart your machine when asked. After booting, check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. For a much thorough diagnostic test on your computer, use disk utility applications like PC Tools Performance Toolkit, or Norton Utilities. Install iTunes again then see if this fixes the problem. This version works with Windows XP Service Pack 2 and later, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. And also, if you are using the 64-bit version of Windows Vista and Windows 7, you also need the 64-bit version of iTunes. See the link above on how to download iTunes 64-bit.
