Why is my Garmin Dakota 10 global positioning system (GPS) misleading? I recently bought a Garmin Dakota GPS device, but instead of guiding me, it is misguiding me. Whenever I switch on the GPS device, it will show gathering information and the initial information like current position is always accurate, but immediately after asking for direction, the information I got was sometimes wrong. More than two occasions, I have found myself in an entirely different place than intended.
Why is my Dakota GPS giving wrong direction
Commonly, it will prompt a message instructing the user to go out. Meaning, the GPS would like to sense the strongest signal directly from the Satellites for it to provide a more accurate location. Given the above, we would somehow have a thinking of the GPS' weaknesses and its dependencies. If in case we have set and search directions from the GPS while we are still inside the garage, covered elevated parking area and or at home, it would probably provide a uncalibrated position that would in effect provide a misleading information of directions.
