Why my Xbox 360 console not working

Why my Xbox 360 console does not work? I am getting “E68. System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support” error message on a black screen as well with the lower right quadrant of the “Ring of Light” on the front of my console flashing red. What does it mean? Is this something serious?  How I can fix this problem?

Why my Xbox 360 console not working

As devastating as it might be, don’t get a new xbox yet. This might be a problem in the hard drive. So this is a simple fix that you can try:

1. Turn off your xbox.

2. Remove the hard drive.

3. Remove the memory unit and any other storage devices in use.

4. Turn on the xbox.

5. When an ‘update required’ screen shows up, just click B. you see this screen because you removed the hard drive.

6. Go to settings > Turn off > Turn Off Console.

7. Put the hard drive and memory unit back.

8. Turn on the xbox. It should work by now.

Follow these steps:

1. Power off the console and unplug all accessories.

2. Place the console horizontally.

3. On the right hand side locate the hard drive cover.

  

4. Take out the hard drive.

5. Now reconnect all the accessories.

6. Close the hard drive cover and turn on the console.

If the problem is still not resolved you can contact Xbox Online Service Centre with your Microsoft Account.

Hi,

 

The error E68 represents hard drive malfunction. There is no actual solution to this error, but most of the forums said to unplug the hard drive, clean it and reattach it. The steps are given below.:-

1. At first you should turn off your console.

2. Then keep it horizontally.

3. On the right bottom side you should see the hard drive chamber

4. Slide release diagonally and you should be able to remove the hard drive.

5. Clean the dust off it and reinstall it.

6. If the problem still exists the only solution is to buy a new hard drive. You can contact the online service center from here.
