Will Aptana Studio 2 projects work in Aptana Studio 3?

I use Aptana Studio 2 for building open-source web development with file transfer and synchronization.

I plan on upgrading to Aptana Studio 3.

My question is, will my HTML and CSS projects in Aptana Studio 2 work in Aptana Studio 3 and can the 2 work simultaneously?

Will Aptana Studio 2 projects work in Aptana Studio 3?

Hi,

Aptana Studio 2 and Aptana Studio 3 have different workspaces. You can use these two products simultaneously.

Yes, HTML and CSS will work fine if you migrate from studio 2 to studio 3, except for a few differences, In HTML :-

1. The indentation settings, Studio 3 has an increased indentation.

2. Force wrap does not exist in Studio 3. Only the comments section is wrapped.

3. The HTML elements list that should not take new lines is a bit different in Studio 3. It adds a TD and TH elements to that list.

Will Aptana Studio 2 projects work in Aptana Studio 3?

Hello Michael,

Aptana Studio 2 project can be migrated in Aptana studio 3 and it will work perfectly but there are some feature which is yet to develop like if you are using SSI then you will be having a hard time in Aptana Studio 3, otherwise all is fine, Server in Aptana is still under development.

The other thing you mentioned if you can use both of them simultaneously, the answer is YES, you can use them together.
