Will I need a USB hotspot creator software

I have a desktop that has an Intel i5 processor, 4 GB RAM, 1 GB Video Card, 1 TB HDD and Windows 7 OS.

How can I make my desktop a WiFi hotspot without a wireless router and would I need a USB hotspot creator software?

I have a CK-WN321G 54 Mbps wireless USB adapter.

Hi,

You can make your computer a WiFi hotspot using WiFi .If your desktop computer does not have WiFi adapter , you can buy a WiFi USB adaptor.

I suggest downloading Connectify software as it will automatically do everything else for you.You just need to select your internet connection (select none if u don't want to share your internet) , select "share over WiFi" and click start hotspot and it will turn your computer into hotspot.

Secondly you can make your computer a WiFi hotspot by creating a adhoc server.

1.Go Network and Sharing Center through the Control Panel

2) click "Set up a new connection or network".

3) click create a new ad hoc wireless network.

4) give username and password and you are done
