I currently have a windows 7 phone. If I upgrade to the new windows 8 phone will any of my old apps work with the windows 8 phone.

Most of the windows 7 applications are compatible with windows 8, but it is important that you check the system specifications of your phone and make sure that it can support and work with windows 8 well. You also need to check the following:

  • Make sure that your phone uses the touch technology because windows 8 was made or it works better with this technology. It may not work well with your phone if it is not a touch screen phone.
  • Windows 8 navigation differs from that of windows 7, so you will need to familiarize yourself with it so that you do not end up having problems after you upgrade the OS.

Dear user,

It is highly likely that the apps worked in windows 7 will work in windows 8. But however there is something you should know

Windows 7 phone users currently left out with these updates such as new Camera App, Internet Explorer 10, near-field communication, Nokia maps and etc.

So including recent buyers of Nokia Lumia 900 also left out from it.

But the good news is windows phone 7 users will receive and update called windows phone 7.8 which includes windows phone 8 start screen.
