Winamp and WMP 12 cannot play music

Help! I user windows 7 64 bit home premium. I have a problem in the music sector, Winamp and wmp 12 I cannot play any media files! When played in Wmp no information about this error,

"WindowsMedia Player encountered a problem while playing the file".

If his music in Winamp does not want to go out and do not make a sound, even though I had to reinstall over and over again and even to upgrade to the latest version, but to no avail …!!! Please help! P.S: The sound on my laptop still can walk even with a real player can!

Winamp and WMP 12 cannot play music

you can get your sound back using this method:

Click Start, type: Turn Windows features on or off
Expand Media
Uncheck Windows Media Player
Restart the System

Click Start, type: Turn Windows features on or off
Expand Media
Recheck Windows Media Player
Restart the System

Winamp and WMP 12 cannot play music

Helo Frederick,

It is very common difficulty among users like you. Your Winamp and WMP might not support the selected file type or might not support the codec which was used to compress those media files. You may try to change the settings for WMP, Tools->Options->Devices->Speakers->Properties will definitely allow you to change it.

Another way of changing the situation is to download the latest codec pack. Some codec packs which are available on internet are K-lite codec pack, XP codec pack etc. You can check following links to download latest codec packs for your pc:

Winamp and WMP 12 cannot play music

previously I was confused before setting to supportthe codec. I have to show appreciation to this writer just for bailing me out of this particular difficulty thanks  Lolbabu and Eric Steve
