Hello everyone.
I really need help with the Windows update page. Whenever I visit this page and click on the Scan for updates button I never get these updates and I can't download any of them. The percentage meter never moves even for a single percent and my updates are never checked.
Can someone please tell me what is the problem and how to fix it.

You can try running the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool and see if the issue can be resolved:Â

To do so you can follow the below steps
Â
1)Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Troubleshooting -> Fix problems with Windows Update.
Â
This will auto fix the windows update problems if there any in you PC.
Â
If the issue still persists, please follow the below steps to check window update services.
Â
1. Click the Start Button an type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter.
2. Click "Continue" if User Account Control prompts for permission
3. Double click the service "Background Intelligent Transfer Service".

4. Click on the Log On tab, ensure the option "Local System account" is selected and the option "Allow service to interact with desktop" is unchecked.

5. Check if this service is enabled on the listed Hardware Profile. If not, please click the Enable button to enable it.
6. Click on the "General" tab; make sure the "Startup Type" is "Automatic" or "Manual".
7. Make sure the "Service Type" is "Started". If not, click the "Start" button to start the service.
8. Please repeat the above steps with another service.

You can also temporarily stop these services, restart the computer, and then start these services again.

If you cannot download windows updates from the Windows Update Web your computer is behind a firewall or proxy server. Sometime you may see following error messages in one corner of your website.
Error number: 0x80244017
Error number: 0x80244018
Error number: 0x80244019
Error number: 0x8024401B
Error number: 0x80244021
There is log file in your computer which can be used to check, the Automatic Updates encountered an error. The file name is Windowsupdate.log. You can find this file in the %Windir% folder. This folder is the folder where Windows is installed.
To fix this problem disable your firewall and try again.
