Dear Cathy peacock,

Windows 7 is older version. The newer version is windows 8 and 8 pro.

First of all, you have to find out for which purpose you are going to use this.

For desktop and tablet uses I prefer windows 8, because it is more rich with content and features rather than “windows 7” or “windows RT”.

And the most important thing is you can’t install any software, without getting approval from Microsoft.

And there is no windows media player in RT. For your more information please visit the site:

Hope, it will be helpful for you.

Thanks.

Windows RT is another version or modification of the Windows 8 operating system which is mainly intended for mobile devices and uses the ARM architecture. Its prototype or first model was announced in January of 2011 during the Consumer Electronics Show and was officially released together with Windows 8 on October 26, 2012.

The Windows RT operating system is only available as pre-loaded software on devices specifically designed for the operating system by their respective Original Equipment Manufacturers or OEMs.

This operating system includes software such as Netflix which is a well-known video streaming service, the Xbox Music, and the Xbox Video services although it doesn’t come with Windows Media Player.

It also includes Office 2013 Home & Student RT which is a special edition of Microsoft Office optimized for ARM-based systems. This edition of Microsoft Office contains Microsoft Excel, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
