I was trying to update my Windows 7. I encountered an error that stated Access Denied. It displayed that Window cannot search for new updates on your system. Error code: 0x80070005.

Windows Displayed Error Code: 0x80070005 During The Update Of Windows7.

These errors occur when there is a problem in the Administrator rights, user settings, internets setting or the configuration of the Windows Update setting is not proper.

Method 1 – Follow these steps –

1. Go to Start Menu, click on the ‘Control Panel’.
2. In the User Accounts and Family Safety, select the option of User Accounts.
3. Select to change the account type and enter the password if asked by the system.
4. Log off from the system and then after logging back again you have the administrator access to the system, now install the Window Updates again.

Method 2 – you should scan your system for malware and viruses. If you do not have any antivirus installed your system, you can use Microsoft Safety Scanner tool.
