Windows Media Player error playing audio files

Hello experts,

Since I have updated Windows Media Player I have this error every time I want to open some media files. I tried to reinstall an older version and I can’t get rid of this error. I have it with the latest version also with an older one. Can anyone help me please to fix this ?

Windows Media Player error playing audio files

Hello Marchellle, 

Is this issue happening to certain files or every media file. If it is only certain files there are chance that they are corrupted or not downloaded properly. 

You can try below solutions.

1. Run troubleshooter: Go to control panel-> troubleshooting->search for windows media player settings and run.

2. Check if the issue is with codec. The file you are trying to run is not supported by the window media player.
