Hello guys,
I am using windows media player to my computer. My operating system is windows XP.
I have a lot of video which plays usually to windows media player.
But this time I can’t do it anymore because of an error. I don’t know where I can edit the restriction policy that the message said. Can anyone please help me to run my windows media player again well?
Windows Media Center
Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a
software restriction policy. For more information, contact your system
administrator.
Windows program-has been prevented by a software restriction policy
Is your computer connecting to a domain where a network or computer administrator dictates who has access to what programs and who does not? If so, then access to the Windows Media Player program may have been disabled which is causing your problem.
Try requesting your network or computer administrator to allow access to the program again. Or if you can, try and install another media player. You can use VLC player instead of the Windows Media Player. That is one of the best media players out there and it supports a lot of the usually used formats without the need for additional codec installation.

Hi Kevin,
Welcome to techyv.com. That error is caused if a program under windows media center was disable. I'd recommend going to Start menu, click on the applet set programs and features and check if windows media player is enabled.
