Windows server 2012 essentials installation when stating the Dashboard

The Windows server 2012 essentials can’t complete the installation and produces warning or error in the Dashboard. When I am installing Windows server 2012 essentials in the vmware workstation, the vmware just created a normal user on its own.

You have not finished settings up Windows Server 2012 Essentials. You cannot open the Dashboard until you complete the server setup.

 

 

I am wondering why I haven’t been able to complete the installation of the Windows Server 2012 Essentials. In addition, I also cannot launch the dashboard because of this. How can I complete the installation process?

Windows server 2012 essentials installation when stating the Dashboard

Hi Calvin,

       This can be a bug with the installation, what you can do is to a Windows Explorer or on you Start Search type in Explorer.exe. Navigate yourself to Root drive > Program Files > Windows Server > Bin and the look for setupmon.exe. Open it with elevated rights (run as administrator). You will see that the installation will continue again. After that it will have a window that will show you why it interrupted the installation, just follow the step if there is a need to upgrade anything on your computer or needed to be configured. Once complete this will finish the installation.
