Windows XP Error: Task Manager was Disabled by Administrator
It is a very common problem with Windows and there might be two reasons behind this issue like:
-
Your administrator makes some settings to disabled the task manager for you.
-
A virus may infect your computer and make the task manager disabled for you.

Windows XP Error: Task Manager was Disabled by Administrator
My Registry Editor is also not working and showing disable message. What are the settings I need to do to fix this problem? I am waiting deliberately.
Windows XP Error: Task Manager was Disabled by Administrator
Task manager is not working. Already clicked on ctrl+alt+delete. The message appears the task manager is disabled by administrator.
Task manager is a utility on your Operating System, where you can see the open applications and the processing part when the computer is running.
If you encounter such applications that are freezing up and not working, you usually click on cntrl+alt+del right? But how about if that didn’t work?
It would result in brainstorming, on your part with a couple of questions. If ever this doesn’t work and you encounter an error message, ” the task manager is disabled by the Administrator” means you are infected with Malware.
You can get Malware, if you have this kind of symptoms; when starting up your computer and open an IE browser, there are some advertisements, pop up displays and there are instances that these browsers display advertisements that would allow you to go to such site, not even knowing that it infects the computer.
You’ll also observe that your web browser page changes unexpectedly and will be added to your favorite folders, with special toolbars; you cannot start a program when you want to and when you click a program, that link would not work and it happened to me before.
We can also observe that the browser suddenly closes or stops responding and the computer takes its time to resume. You can also check this link ” Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software “. We do have some work around, on how to get rid of an infected virus or Malware by following through the guidelines. 1st thing is to run the”Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool“. Here’s another link from where, you can download it.
This removal tool is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003. Once the program is done, it will give you a display report that describes the outcome of the cleaning process.
2nd step is to download the ATF cleaner supported by Microsoft MVP.
mid=25 . Just run the executable program and you need to select all found, seen at the bottom of the list. There is an Empty selected button, that needs to be clicked and the last thing to do, is click exit on the main menu, in order to close the tool/program. All the process has already been done so we can shut down and reboot the computer.
If you don’t want this kind of problem happen again you can install a Anti – Malware software on your computer.
I believe you can download it for free. Must need to double click mbam-setup.exe file, then after installing run the software to perform full scan. Once the scan is complete. Click ok to show and view the results. Everything should be checked and select remove.
There’s one thing that you can try, it’s a freeware SUPERAntispyware. Microsoft website really helps.

Windows XP Error: Task Manager was Disabled by Administrator
Follow the keys one by one and make enable all the things related to the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem
HKEY_USERS.defaultSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem
Now you can find the DWord value “DisableTaskMgr”.
By deleting this value you can enable the task manager for you.

Windows XP Error: Task Manager was Disabled by Administrator
Hello Dear,
Thanks for sharing your problem with us.
Dear this is a very common error. It is a virus attack and this virus effect not only the task manager but also disables the windows registry.
Try this "Start Menu" > "Run" > type "gpedit.msc" > "User Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" > "system" > "CTRL+ALT+DEL options" > remove task manager. Reconfigure removes task manager by double clicking on it. A settings dialog box will open. Choose "Disable" and ok.
You can recopy this file but it will replace again at each system startup.
If you want to recopy this file then make these steps.
1. Go to the folder C:WINDOWSServicePackFilesi386 and then right-click on task manager file from it and select Copy.
2. Open the folder C:WINDOWSSystem32 and then right-click from it and select Paste.
It will open task manage twice or thrice but when you will restart your computer it can create problem again. This problem can be overcome by reinstalling windows.
I hope it will help you.
Thanks
