Windows XP Start Up Sound Comes Later.
Take a look at your prefetch folder in Windows XP %systemdrive%prefetch. You want to delete everything in there and windows will repopulate it with what is needed. This is along with other things that are usually what causes slow boots for Windows XP machines especially on a network. I'll try to find the microsoft link on some other problems.
Also if you have mapped network drives that are configured to connect at login this can cause slow start ups. Or maybe you use Norton anti-virus, there is a problem in a file called "ccEvtMgr.exe" wasn't loading properly and was corrupt along with "ccEvt.dll". you must set these files not to load on bootup, and Windows came right up with no problems.
Windows XP Start Up Sound Comes Later.
The following are the possible workarounds to that situation:
- You will need to take a look at the prefetch folder in the Windows XP operating system, which is in the following location: %systemdrive%prefetch.
- You may want to delete everything in that folder.
- Once you have done that, windows will then repopulate it with what all the data that is needed.
The above is one of the problems that will make the windows XP computers boot slowly, and especially those that are on a network environment. There may be some others which you can find from the Microsoft website, and therefore you might want to check it out.
