Windows XP support will close.
It’s true. The support for Windows XP, in every variation possible will end. Some parts of Windows XP have already stopped support this year. The support is split 2 parts, the mainstream support, which basically mean that this part of windows XP have full priority over the other Windows versions like Vista or 7 and the extended support, this is basically an extended warranty, because Windows XP is very wide spread, they simply cannot leave millions of computers without support.
But the support life of Windows XP with all its variations like Media Center, Pro, Home will end in 4/8/2014. So you still have about 2 years to switch to another Windows version.
Windows XP support will close.

It is said that some of Microsoft Windows versions will have its support ended. Some may already have learned what it really means but there are others that are still anxious as to what will happen if ever the support for their product or their operating system really ended. If your Microsoft Windows went unsupported, it means that you will no longer receive any software updates coming from Windows Update.
These updates include security updates that helps protect your computer from viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It also installs the latest software updates that improve the reliability of Windows like new drivers for your hardware and others. If you are using Microsoft Windows on your computer, here are the versions that will have their support ended:
- Microsoft Windows XP — support for this version will end on April 8, 2014.
- Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 — support for this version already ended on July 12, 2011.
- Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 — support for this version already ended on July 13, 2010.
You won’t get any more security updates if you happen to be running any of these versions on your computer. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 and you are not sure on upgrading to Microsoft Windows 7, you should upgrade to Service Pack 3 because it already includes all previously released updates and a small number of new updates.
Windows XP support will close.
