Wireless G Printserver software in Windows 7
Hello there !!
Since you are getting the error message regarding the installation of the wireless printer. So the possible reason for the error you are getting is, your current setup is not compatible with the operating system architecture therefore the setup is not getting installed.
So what you need to do is to check the compatibility of the setup and then try to install it on the corresponding operating system. Please keep in mind that compatibility of the setup must be same as that of the operating system.
Wireless G Printserver software in Windows 7
Hello Horace M Dudley,
Wireless G print server was released long ago and it supports only Windows 98, server and Xp. But there is a way you can set it up on windows 7. You don't need a driver for this as the driver doesn't work in windows 7 anyway. Follow my instructions –
1. First you have to configure the printer server. To do this make sure both printer and printer server are turned off. Connect printer to the printer server using USB cable and then connect wired network to Ethernet jack.
2. Now first turn the printer server ON then the printer. It is important.Â
3. Just press the reset button and hold for 3 second. You can use some stuff like paper-clip or toothpick.Â
4. Now it will print a status page, exposing its IP address. Check and write the IP address down.
5. Now type the IP address in the search box of a browser using computer networks. Here you can see default username is empty and the password is empty. Look for the menus and change the username and password and write it down.
6. Now setup network configuration by assigning a fixed IP address, Mask – 255.255.255.0 and gateway – 192.168.1.1. If you don't know your computer values, search for cmd in the start menu, and type ipconfig/all to see all details about your network.
7. Set up wireless configuration if you want to go wireless. For 64-bit WEP system, keep in mind that you choose 64-bit WEP, shared key, and type the key(not password).
8. Now save it all up. If you want to start wireless disconnect the print server and Ethernet and connect it again. It should now be working now.
9. Now go to control panel > Devices and printer. Right click on an empty area and choose add a printer.
10. Now choose local printer, create a port, that is standard TCP/IP port.
11. Now that you chose the address earlier, give it here.Â
12. Now it will show that query failed. Now choose Generic network card. And then from the menu of printers, choose your one.
13. And print a page for a test, and you are done.
Hope it helps!
