WordPerfect crashes with Windows 7
Hi Dave!
A lot of people have reported crashes when using WordPerfect on Windows 7.
Although there isn't known a certain cause for this, here are the most frequent solutions:
First of all, there might be a problem of compatibility. Right click on the program icon, go to Properties, and then choose the Compatibility tab. There you should check the "Run in compatibility mode for" box, and then select Windows XP.
If that doesn't work, try selecting other options too, like Windows Vista, 2000, etc. Remember to be in the administrator mode when you run all these changes, otherwise it won't work.
Secondly, you may be using a corrupted template. In this case, go to the Start menu, select Accessories, then in Run type the command "%appdata%" (leave aside the quotation marks). Then, rename the "Corel" folder to "Corel1".
Other common cause found for X3, X4 and X5 has something to do with the file dialog option. Go to Tools, Settings and Files, and there uncheck the Enhanced File Dialogs box. Instead, you can use the open/edit screen to make copy and move files.
If none of these solves your problem, you might want to consider having troubles with the printer device drivers, and that depends on what printer you are using. Good luck!
