Hi,
I have a problem running Yahoo Messenger (as well as other applications e.g. Action Voip, Chikka Messenger, Skype and the likes) in my computer. I don’t know if the problem comes from my DSL Connection or from my computer. I do not have connection problems with my internet when it comes to web browsing, but when I try to open Yahoo Messenger it always return the message: “We can’t sign you in Yahoo Messenger”.
So the next resort is to try the troubleshooter which in turn would reply that “there’s a temporary problem and there's a need to change the Connection Preferences”. Changing the connection preferences to “Connect via a Proxy Server”, made it possible to launch Yahoo Messenger, but a new problem arises. I cannot use the webcam and can’t make internet call/voice chat. What seems to be the problem and how do I solve this?
Thanks friends.
Yahoo Messenger running on HTTP Proxy
This means your computer is connected behind a proxy server to connect to internet. You need to configure your system so that every program uses the proxy server’s IP and port to connect to internet. All the software you are running should have a connect through proxy in their connection. But to configure all system to use it, go to internet options. In the connections tab, you can see Lan settings, open it. Check the use proxy server option and give the proxy IP and port. If you do not know them, contact your network admin or ISP. This should enable all software to use that proxy. Also, if any software still has any problem, go to its connection settings and check system proxy settings.
And for additional info on yahoo connection settings, visit this page,

Yahoo Messenger running on HTTP Proxy
Hello Anonymous,
For this problem I found another solution by searching yahoo answer. It says that, uninstall the yahoo messenger and then use a good cache and cookies cleaner, like CCleaner. You can find it in this link:
https://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Now install it and run the program. Clean all the cache and cookies. Now install winaso from this link and install it.
https://www.winaso.com/
It is a registry cleaner. It is a trial version and it will allow you to clean 10 specific registries at a time, but it is very user friendly. Using this cleaner clean the registry which is related to yahoo messenger. Now reinstall another yahoo messenger and enjoy.
Thank you,
Riley weaver.
