A Scientist is someone who investigates and creates new and useful products and devices for human potential to be effective and timely. The field of science and technology has grown vividly with the needful resources given famous personalities in innovations and inventions. Let us look at the top ten scientists and their discoveries in their respective fields of work or study that changed the way of living on the earth.
1. ROBERT HOOKS
Robert Hooks was prominent for the discovering about the plant cells and Hook’s law-that is the primary form in the law of electricity. He also invented the accurate time-keeping pocket watches. Robert also notably gave contributions to the cutting of teethes.
2. BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
Benjamin Franklin has given out one of the fundamental laws of physics; the law of conservation of electricity. He also gave notions for proving that lightning is also a form of current. The bifocal spectacles, Franklin stove and the lightning rod have been under the introduction of Benjamin.
3. LOUIS PASTEUR
Louis Pasteur has given the discovery that some molecules have mirror images dividing as left-handed version and right-handed versions for the chemical compounds. He already banished the concepts and ideas of “spontaneous generation” for the biology field. Pasteur was also famous for giving the information on the process of pasteurization and patented it in 1862.
4. WILLIAM CROOKES
William Crookes, the physical chemist, was famous for his invention of the chemical element Thallium. In 1875 he gave the crooks tube; this tube is an electrical discharge pathway which is used to generate cathode rays. Crookes has been using the magnetic fields to prove that the cathode rays are consisting of negatively charging ions.
5. PIERRE CURIE
One decade earlier, in the 1880’s, Pierre Curie, husband of Marie Curie, and his sibling Jacques had discovered the piezoelectricity and also gave the quartz electrometer which is used to detect and measure electric charge.
6. SIR ISSAC NEWTON
Sir Issac Newton is known for famous his law of gravitation. The new revolution of mathematics, the calculus was derived from Issac’s binomial theorem. He also gave the theories for tides that generally occur due to the gravitation pull from three planets.
7. THOMAS ALVA EDISON
Thomas Alva Edison was famous for being both a scientist and inventor. Edison’s list of the invention includes- batteries, phonographs, cement, and telegraphs, lights and powers. The telephone given by Graham Bell took development after his works on it!
8. MICHAEL FARADAY
Faraday is specially known for his famous discoveries of the electromagnetic inductions and its path rotations, Dia-magnetization, and also for the magneto-optical phenomenon. Faraday’s ring and electric motor were few of his best inventions.
9. GALILEO GALILEI
Galileo-father of modern science has made enormous contributions for the fields of astronomy and physics. Galileo gave the first telescope to observe planets. He also gave the discovery of the law of pendulum.
10. LUIS ALVAREZ
Luis Alvarez is the most famous personality for discovering the Iridium layer. He has been awarded the Nobel Prize for his extraordinary works in the field of particle physics. Landing aircraft safely are also from his ideas only!
